About Afootly
A town website you'd actually use every week.
Afootly started in Monmouth. It holds a complete directory of local businesses and trades, verified reviews, what’s on, a jobs board, live local data — planning, river levels, fuel prices, bins, power cuts — and boards for last-minute cancellations and deals.
The rules
- Free for residents, forever. No paywall on any information.
- Every business gets a free listing, forever. Paid tiers add tools, never position.
- Nobody can pay to rank. Listings are ordered by relevance, distance or freshness. The only paid placement on the whole site is one clearly labelled sponsor slot.
- Reviews are verified. Unverified ones are labelled and don’t count towards scores.
- Reviews can’t defame. Fixed questions carry the rating; written comments are checked before they appear.
- Either side can start a review. Neither can suppress one.
- Data first. Everything here is also available through a public API.
- We keep everything. Every public feed we collect is archived, so you can see how the town changes.
How it’s paid for
By businesses, never residents: optional tools for trades, local job adverts, notices, one sponsor slot and, in time, licensed data. Never paid ranking, never featured listings, never selling your email address.
Accessibility
