Owen Shiers brings Cynefin to the stage with his band, performing music rooted in the songs, stories and landscape of his native Ceredigion. Drawing on years of research into the vernacular traditions of west Wales, Owen breathes new life into forgotten songs and voices through inventive arrangements and original compositions. His acclaimed albums Dilyn Afon and Shimli have established Cynefin as a distinctive voice in contemporary Welsh folk music. Most recently, Shimli was nominated for UK Folk Album of the Year 2025 and named The Guardian's Folk Album of the Month. Aneirin Jones has been involved in creating award-winning albums and performing as part of the chamber folk trio, VR . He now begins the journey as a solo artist, honing the old tunes and songs he learnt as a child, with original compositions. The addictive thrill and transcendental feeling of playing jigs, reels and folk songs is at the core of the set, with Patrick Rimes on piano (Vr , Calan, Alaw) and Rhys Morris on guitar (Avanc).
